Moose Watch: 2010

Thanks to those who have inquired about Mister Moose.
I am pleased to report that he is well and living in semi-retirement in Colorado.

With a buffalo.

Yes, life is FULL of surprises :)
I know that all his legion of fans wish him well, as do I.

Better safe than sorry!

Mister Moose does not look happy about it, but it's really for his own good. Tink *~*~* has put him into her beach bag for the tender trip back to the ship. This way, he will feel safe and not so very sick. Notice, Tink *~*~* has covered him with a plastic bag, in case he has an accident in there, and she admonishes him to "stay put!".

Later, Mister Moose was moose-napped by Lodge Ladies who shall not be named. They took him to a "game show" on the ship called "Quest", because you never know when the game show host is going to ask the audience if they have a moose... In any event, he got in quite late that evening, creeping in while Tink *~*~* was sleeping.

Back on the speed boat

After finishing with lunch (and the Kahlua coladas), the ladies did a little more shopping and then met back up with Carol and the tour operators. Here we see Mister Moose generously offering the driver of our speed boat a few tips on how to navigate the mangrove swamps to the satisfaction of his riders, who as we all know, are quite the fans of a good theme park ride!

Mmmmmm, lunch!

Mister Moose is too little to order his own lunch, so he just moosed, I mean mooched off Tink's *~*~* plate. For the record, she ordered a small lobster tail, grilled, with red beans and rice and some nice cole slaw. Oh and a Kahlua colada. OK, she had TWO Kahlua coladas.

Mister Moose and his menu selection

It seems that Mister Moose's favorite color is blue. He thinks it matches his eyes. Tink *~*~* thinks maybe mooses are color blind... Well, the drink certainly blends in quite nicely with the beautiful Belizeish sea. Mister Moose certainly enjoyed the view this fine day.

Mister Moose Does Lunch

While Carol went snorkeling, and Debbie, Barbara, and Linda went shopping, Mister Moose hitched a ride in Tink's *~*~* beach bag to help her hunt for sea shells. Pretty soon they were very hungry, and made their way down the beach to the Rainbow Grill to meet up with the shoppers. Here, Mister Moose poses with Barbara before making his selection from the menu.

Mister Moose on the speed boat to Caye Caulker

Mister Moose likes the speed boat SO much better than he liked the tender! He sat in the back of the boat, where he did not get bumped around very much. Here we see Mister Moose enjoying the wind in his antlers; Tink *~*~* dutifully hangs on to him so he doesn't fall overboard.

Mister Moose in Belize City

After the horrible ordeal on the tender boat, Mister Moose was grateful to chill for a moment in the shade with his new friend the Belizeish Guitar Dude.

Mister Moose is not feeling well

Well! A tender boat is quite different from a big ship, and Mister Moose needed to spend a little time hanging over the railing before he could pull himself together and enjoy the trip.

Mister Moose Goes To Caye Caulker, Belize

The next morning, Tink *~*~* put Mister Moose in her beach bag and went with Carol, Debbie, Barbara, and Linda to Caye Caulker in Belize. They would have to travel on a tender boat to the port of Belize City, and then take another little boat out to the tiny island of Caye Caulker. Mister Moose was all prepared with his shelling net and sunglasses.
